Where teachers have a place
to get extra resources
The Discovery Center also serves as a School Emporium which is designed to assist the teachers of Anderson County by providing basic school supplies that are essential to both the student and the teacher for a successful school year. This would greatly reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for our area teachers.
There are 50+ public schools within our county and teachers in South Carolina spend an average of $433+/year out of their personal finances to purchase supplies for their classrooms and students.
All school products are provided directly to the teachers, not through a voucher system or referral process. All teachers that request assistance must provide a valid school ID.

The Emporium offers a variety of classroom essentials, including pencils, paper, markers, folders, and more. Availability depends on donations, but we strive to meet the core needs of every teacher who visits.
We strive to provide a streamlined way for teachers to access the supplies they need. As we grow, we aim to update our inventory based on educator feedback. Have a suggestion? Fill out our survey to let us know what’s most needed.
